Illuminator of the Year 2017 Winners

February 23rd, 2017

This year we held our first annual Illuminator of the Year awards ceremony to honor those educators who are using Illuminate to effect significant, positive change for the students we all serve.

We featured three finalists in each of our two categories: Educator of the Year and Administrator of the Year. Here we’re spotlighting our winners, Cora Dodge and John LaPlante. Visit our website to see the other finalists and their videos.

Educator of the Year: Cora Dodge

Cora’s district overcame a fear of data systems and helped teachers adopt Illuminate DnA. Now teachers are building and sharing tests. Huntington Beach also uses the Illuminate reports to analyze data from state testing as well as custom reports to identify at-risk and highly achieving students.

Administrator of the Year: John LaPlante

John’s district uses Illuminate to bring together multiple points of early literacy data (e.g., benchmarks, F&P, running records, site word lists) into custom reports to make sure students are on track to meet Ohio’s “Third Grade Reading Guarantee.”

We congratulate both winners and all our finalists on the amazing work they’re doing in their respective districts!
