Responsibilities

This position supports and oversees Financial Accounting across the organization. The Financial Accounting Manager will lead the financial accounting, tax and financial reporting team. This highly visible position will report to the Corporate Controller. 

This position requires hands-on leadership and cross-functional teamwork skills. It also requires strong coordination with the Financial Planning organization to ensure alignment. The ideal candidate easily interfaces with all team members and is passionate about team development. The role is focused on the performance and deliverables of the accounting team and supports the Finance team and business as a whole. 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the accounting, tax and compliance staff.
  • Oversee and provide first-line approvals of the monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts, assist in the resolution of uses in a timely manner and ensure balance are properly supported.
  • Oversee and provide first-line approval of the daily and monthly recording of journal entries.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Manage and assist in compiling monthly, quarterly and annual financial data for internal and external auditors, tax returns, and others as needed.

  • Assist Controller in development and implementation of policies and controls and ensures adherence to the policies and controls on a daily basis.
  • Manage, train and coach Senior and Staff Accountants to perform their responsibilities. Provide real-time performance feedback to staff.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure all internal controls are adhered to.
  • Collaborate with other Finance Department managers and other Corporate departments to support overall Corporate goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with the head of FP&A (and foster close team partnership regionally) to ensure understanding of variances to budget.

Qualifications

  • CPA.
  • 7+ years in financial accounting roles (including time at accounting firms).
  • Strong process documentation and controls documentation experience including ITGC experience.
  • Experience sourcing and applying technical accounting guidance that cover such topics as Variable Interest Entities, Purchase Accounting/Business Combination Accounting, Revenue Recognition (ASC 606/605), Leasing Accounting, Debt Modification, Consolidation/Equity Method/Joint Ventures, etc.
  • Netsuite user proficiency preferred.
  • Demonstrable process re-engineering and improvement experience including the identification of inefficiencies, formulation of an action plan, and execution of changes.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP requirements for technology / software companies (e.g. software revenue recognition and software development capitalization principles.)
  • Familiarity with multi-entity consolidation, transfer pricing.
  • Prior experience working at Saas software company preferred.
  • Strong Excel (Pivot Tables, lookups).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong adaptability, constructive and collaborative teaming, highly driven and output focused.
