Hybrid Learning Resources for Moving Forward

Written by
July 1st, 2021

As the school year wraps up and summer learning plans are in full swing for many districts, teams are also beginning to kick off their fall planning processes in preparation for the coming year. And though many districts anticipate a much-celebrated return to in-person learning, some districts anticipate a hybrid and/or remote model to continue in their schools for the foreseeable future.

For some, planning a hybrid learning option may be tied to evolving vaccinations rollouts and concerns about overcrowding. Other districts may be looking at long-term hybrid or remote learning options to offer more flexibility to students, to bolster family engagement, or to continue the growth of students who struggled in onsite learning but thrived in remote learning

Whether an established hybrid district or one contemplating long-term hybrid or remote options for the first time, some of the necessary tools and tech for successful hybrid learning are more obvious to educators than ever before--things like device access, robust internet connectivity, learning management systems, and video conferencing. These became the bare essential tools of the spring 2020 “crisis learning” period.

However, as districts are able to plan more deliberately for their hybrid and remote environments than spring 2020 afforded, many leaders are seeking strategic tools and resources that equip them to support student learning and social-emotional behavior (SEB) needs across learning environments as we move forward.

In this article, we offer a few free tools from Illuminate Education and highlight a few of Illuminate’s partners’ solutions that may help those considering planned, long-term hybrid or remote learning.
