About IEUC Virtual

We're coming together for comprehensive professional development on topics important to educators, like SEB, MTSS, equity, and formative assessment, all focused on student and educator success. Attendees will learn about the latest trends, strategies, and resources designed to empower educators to support the whole child.

We'll also focus on best practices for using Illuminate products (DnA, eduCLIMBER, FastBridge, SchoolCity, and Illuminate Content), including opportunities to learn from fellow educators in client-led sessions. We're offering the full conference experience, with a decked-out virtual lobby, prizes, and chances to interact with colleagues and Illuminate staff.

  • Our schedule builder will allow you to choose all of the sessions you'd like to attend in advance, and you can set calendar notifications to remind you when and where to join.

Dr. Salome Thomas-El

Dr. Salome Thomas-EL has been a teacher and principal since 1987. He received national acclaim as a teacher and chess coach, where his students have gone on to win world recognition as eight-time National Chess Champions. Principal EL was a regular contributor on the "The Dr. Oz Show" and is the author of the best-selling books "I Choose to Stay" (movie rights optioned by Disney Films) and "The Immortality of Influence" (which stresses the importance of leadership, mentoring, parenting, and service to others) and the co-author of the newly released "Passionate Leadership."

Thomas-EL speaks to groups around the country and frequently appears on C-SPAN, CNN, and NPR. Principal EL has studied at Cambridge University in England and Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, and he holds a doctorate in Education from Wilmington University in Delaware. He has received the Marcus A. Foster Award as the outstanding School District Administrator in Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania's distinguished Martin Luther King Award. Reader's Digest Magazine recognized Principal EL as an "Inspiring American Icon." Principal EL has also appeared on "The Oprah Radio Network."

Dr. Kimberly Gibbons

Kim Gibbons, Ph.D., is the Director of the Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement at the University of Minnesota and the Co-Director of the Wisconsin Minnesota Comprehensive Center. Her research and professional interests include the Multi System of Support Framework (MTSS), educational policy and leadership, improvement science, and evidence-based teaching practices. She is active in state leadership in MN and is the past-president of the Minnesota Association of Special Educators. Finally, she is the author or co-author of four books and has numerous other peer-reviewed publications. Her most recent book, published in 2018, is Effective Universal Instruction: An Action-Oriented approach to Improving Tier 1.

Cancellations must be made on or before Monday, February 21, 2022 to receive a full refund. After February 21, 2022, if the registrant is unable to attend, a replacement is permitted.
